Many of our students have experienced some form of trauma and they are bringing them with them to the classrooms and it looks like behaviors. It is challenging as a teacher to know what trauma looks like and how to help these students. In this class you will learn about trauma, its impact on the student and how to best support them and help them feel safe so they will be successful in your class and able to learn. In addition, many of our staff members have experienced their own traumas and have to come to work and act like nothing has happened. In this workshop we will discuss the importance of self-care and do a self-care activity as your mental health matters too!

It is challenging as a teacher to know what trauma looks like and how to help these students. In this class you will learn about trauma, its impact on the student and how to best support them and help them feel safe so they will be successful in your class and able to learn. In addition, many of our staff members have experienced their own traumas and have to come to work and act like nothing has happened. It is challenging as a teacher to know what trauma looks like and how to help these students. In this class you will learn about trauma, its impact on the student and how to best support them and help them feel safe so they will be successful in your class and able to learn. In addition, many of our staff members have experienced their own traumas and have to come to work and act like nothing has happened. In this workshop we will discuss the importance of self-care and do a self-care activity as your mental health matters too!

Teachers will extend their learning from “Algebra Tiles Part 1,” using Algebra Tiles to support conceptual understanding in solving equations for students in grades 6-9.
