Teachers will be introduced to teaching Algebra 1 topics using Algebra Tiles to support conceptual understanding in various topics for students in grades 6-9. Teachers will explore how tiles can be used to help students understand such topics as adding/subtracting integers, combining like terms, and solving one-step equations. Teachers will consider the use of Math Language Routines in order to support mathematical understanding built through Algebra Tiles.
